My house does not have a lot of kitchen cabinet space. If anyone has ideas on how to be more organized/make the most of a small amount of space I would really appreciate it.

Lower cabinets can be modified to slide out bringing all stored items to you .
Though inconvenient, stacking is the most space saving. I know unstacking to get that bowl that is on the bottom is a hassle, but that may be your only choice right now. Many plastic container are now coming with lids that fit multi sized bottoms. No searching for the right lid to fit the right bottom.
Realistically think of how many glasses or plates you need in a days time. If you rarely have more than 4 people at your house at one time, then you can probably get by with 6 or so in your cabinet. Store the rest in the garage for quick emergencies. I know this may mean washing dishes as used, but it is possible. I have a friend that stored many of her things in here dishwasher and hand washed her dishes.
Unless you have a great storage area that is dry and no chance of mice, you will probably have trouble buying in bulk. You can store things like flour and cornmeal in the fridge or freezer.
