The design of the small modern kitchen is a clean and simple line. Using a modern design in the small kitchen, you can create a smooth and free flowing kitchen design. In some modern designs, islands can compensate for the lack of work space. In the modern kitchen design, the dishwasher and the refrigerator are hidden in back of panels that match the rest of the cabinets. The small modern kitchen does not have much space for many appliances. You can uplift the small kitchen design by adding color which is a great tool that is often used by interior designers.
Interior designers create an illusion of space with lighting under the cabinets and under the counter. The proper lighting can make your kitchen larger and appealing. Lighter color cabinet with glass doors creates the appearance that there is more space. Flooring tiles can be placed diagonally. In a galley, designed kitchen hardware floors can be used and still give the room a large appearance. If doing a modern small kitchen design and an island is desired, it is best to double it up as a work space as well. There are island designs that come already available and can suit your needs and preferences. The islands provide solutions to and space problems in your small kitchen.
When you are trying to save space, it means you have to prevent clutter and make the little bit of space you do have more efficient. Saving space also means you have to have fewer items in your kitchen. You can install deeper cabinets to increase more work space. Modern small kitchen designs focus more on function. They cut down on clutter. Modern materials will include those that are man made or natural. Any cabinets that may have a frosted glass with maple wood facing would fit into a modern design theme. The horizontal cabinets that have doors opening from the top are modern. There are accessories you can use when designing a small kitchen. These will need to be kept to the minimum since the goal is to eliminate clutter. Appliances such as mixers can be stored in the cupboards.
Even though the modern small kitchen design will not allow for too many things in the kitchen does not mean that the kitchen should be a boring place. When you design your small modern kitchen, be sure to take into consideration the budget and its constraints. To save money, if your kitchen has a window, then depend more on natural lighting in the way you lay the kitchen out. If you use the natural light, then there is no need for curtains. Using bright colors in small space, such as bright red with chrome or silver will bring out the taste. You want to keep from having your small modern kitchen look too busy or junky.
Modern can be simple and functional, yet still beautiful with a splash of bold. If the color in your kitchen is only limited to a few spaces, it can be changed easily. Ambient lighting designs in modern small kitchens will enhance the overall beauty of the kitchen.

I really need one for one of my assignments, I have to create a restaurant, but most of these online ones are for homes only, I need one that has the appliances a commercial kitchen would have.

Are you a design student?
I think Ikea might have a kitchen design program you can download for free, but you can only use Ikea products in it. You could also download Google SketchUp and model the kitchen that way, but there’s a bit of a learning curve if you’re not familiar with 3D modeling software.
