Does Anyone Know How I Could Seal A Stained Hardwood Kitchen Floor?
Does anyone know how I could seal a stained hardwood kitchen floor to protect it from water, high traffic and scratching?
Are there any products that are clear but strong that I can put over the hardwood to protect it?
I took up the linoleum flooring in my kitchen and found a very pretty hardwood floor underneath.
My kitchen is a high traffic area in my house and where my dog sleeps at night which he has long nails.

Minwax makes clear sealers for hardwood. Some of them may have uv protection (to help prevent fading.) Ask your local paint people what they recommend for your project. Some products may resist scratching, but from what I’ve seen scratches are usually sanded down and refinished. So if you are keeping your dog on the wood you may just end up refinishing the floor in a year or so. Good luck!
Two part epoxy , the same stuff they put on bar tops except for floors here is a link

The best thing to use is polyurethane. It stands up to spills and abuse and is long lasting.
