How Can I Clean The Grout Between The Tiles On My Kitchen Floor?

I’ve recently moved into a new house. The ceramic tiles of my kitchen floor are beautiful, but the grout between them is filthy. Normal household cleaners don’t do the trick. How can I whiten the grout, without ruining the floor?

What I used was bleach (or clorox) applied it straight to the grout and let it sit for 10-15 mins, then with a brush, firm bristles, scrub the grout area.
Open all windows, work in a well ventilated area.
Do not mix with any other chemical, wear gloves, etc
mop with water to remove all bleach.
If you feel dizzy get out into fresh air.
Do small areas at a time 5 ft x 5 ft
oxyclean and hot water works well
take a cloth and some spiritus. open the windows when cleaning.
Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get grout cleaner. Apply let soak and wash off.
SoftScrub *might* work if you have that lying around… it does have bleach in it though, so wear crappy clothes, and watch out for carpets.
Hi,
The best way to restore your grout back to a uniform color is to color seal it. Color sealing is a process used by professionals (but very simple for the do-it-yourselfer) that restores grout back to a completely uniform color of your choice. When your done the grout will look like it was just installed and here’s the best part…the grout will be STAIN PROOF. That’s very different than just sealed. Clear sealers will only provide some stain resistance; a little more time to pick up a spill. Color Sealing on the other hand means that even if something spills on your grout and dries there, it will wipe away with mild soapy water and not leave even a mark.
