If replacing the flooring is an option I would head to Lowe’s and look into flooring that is designed specifically for the kitchen/bathroom. Explain your concerns to the sales person and if they don’t know, place a piece of the flooring on the ground, dampen it and step on it and just test it to see how slippery it is.
