I have come across many jobs that were originally vinyl, tile had been put in up to the dishwasher and the dishwasher was trapped between the floor and the counter-tops. The reason is that you will not always want your tile, and if there is flood, the floor may have to be pulled-up. Have the cabinet guys install the base cabinets raised off the ground, 1/2 to 3/4 in. and of course leveled. Cabinets should go on first.
