We have a modern apartment – light and airy, and must fit our heavy oak table into the white kitchen. i like the look of old meets new, but can’t find any pictures of this combination in any magazine…………hmmm I wonder why? Do you know if it would look ok together? Have you seen any pictures of this? or anything similar? and if so, could you please forward them to me. open to all opinions

I haven’t seen pictures myself, but you know, honestly…anything goes now days! If you are creative and you can add really cool accessories, I think it would work. Have fun with it and get creative!!
BillPost, it sounds interesting, decorating is a private thing and if you are selective it can be pleasing. The oak table is a massive thing so must be complimented with touches od lightness in a white room. Suggest not repeating white on chairs but introduce a color like tan, medium yellow or even a pale green to interact with the oak and white walls. Color in a light scheme will always work. Enjoy.

it will look great as long as they are substantial enough to not look to sparse with the table pier1(pier1.com) has some that offer enough” bulk” to pull off the look. don’t worry about the different wood tones its part of the charm
It wouldn’t work.
