Can Anyone Share Experiences With Refacing Kitchen Cabinets?

We are about to buy a new home. The kitchen cabinets are white and we prefer a wood look along the lines of honey oak or cherry. Has anyone tried to reface white cabinets with a wood? What suggestions would you have?

Before you do anything with the cabinets. Find out what kind of wood they are.
That will make all the difference in the world about what you want to do to them and what you can do to them.
Had my cabinets refaced 11 years ago and they still look wonderful. You say your cabinets are white…are they wood or laminate? Talk to a professional. I’m not sure that you’d want to reface over laminate. Good luck in your new home!
simple, you laminate a wood veneer and then stain and seal the way you like.they have a very good before and after tape at Lowe’s in the kitchen cabinet area or where they sell the wood veneer in mill works.glue on and trim off, been done for years, and some products can be ironed on with your household iron.just remember that the knobs can also really dress up cabinets and easily under the cabinet lighting which is low voltage.
A guy in my car pool had his cabinets refinished by Sears. They look great!
