In my experience (Home builder and renovator) you will save considerable money resurfacing. Nothing quite beats the look of new cabinets and doors but the price to pay is always much higher than a person thinks for new cabinets.

You will save lots of money by refacing. I’d recommend getting a quote for new cabinets because if the price isn’t too bad, you might prefer to go new than just refacing. I’d recommend refacing and getting a really nice counter-top. That’s what I want to do in our kitchen if I can convince my other half to go that route. He loves new, so I dunno.

You will save a good amount of money by just refacing them, especially since the kitchen has so many different kinds of cabinets. Chances are if you go with replacing the whole thing, some of them will have to be special ordered or built, which will cost some major cash. Alot of places that sell cabinets do not carry every cabinet finish in every size and have to order them. Most of the time, a place like Lowes will do a free estimate where they will send someone out to measure exactly what sizes you need and then a kitchen design specialist will work with you an get you an estimated cost.
