I am thinking of selling my house in a year or two and would like to refacte our cabinet doors and the cabinets, because they look awful now. I’ve heard that there’s a product, that is like a film cover to go over the cabinets. It woudl be white and would stick to the existing cabinet.
Has anyone ever heard of this type of product?
where would i get it?
Also, is there something like this to cover the cabinet doors as well?

Have the doors & drawers replaced, you can have them measured and order to fit nice at a fair price and not looking like a cosmetic fix.
The boxes there is a paint to match your new doors & drawers that you can buy. looks good and way less than to resurface. I have done this to a couple homes.

I have heard of refacing cabinets and have actually looked into doing it. We found this service at a Menard’s store and the sales person did a good job of explaining how to do it. However, it seemed like it would be expensive for the amount of work you have to do yourself. It is basically a laminate sheet with a strong adhesive on the back. you apply it to your cabinet bases then cut off the excess carefully. Then, thye send you new drawer fronts and doors that match “finish” you have chosen. It is real wood I believe, but thin and probably easy to destroy if it got any type of water damages such as under a faulty sink.
What I would suggest doing is taking off all the doors and drawers. You can buy new drawers and doors if you’d like in the finish you want then paint the base a color that coordinates with the rest since most of it is covered by doors and drawer faces. Or just paint them dark brown, black or white and add new hardware. it would make it look more modern. We flip houses and have lots of rental houses and this is how we fix ugly stuff.
yes you can purchase it at a paint store. very similiar to contact paper used to do the shelving, but much better quality as well as designs and colors
option 2 remove the panels to the doors and install screen. gives it the open concept
Post a link and end up on ebay,,,,Hmmm.
I have all new cabinets in my current house but in my old house i did a trick. I used shoe moulding and made a frame on the existing cabinets and painted them with a whitewash technique. The cabinets looked great after i was done and got many compliments on them. it adds texture to the room and if your cabinets are just plain wood with no detail this is a great project. Just be sure you cut the angles on the corner of the moulding so they fit together good. put the moudling about 2-3 inches in from the edge of the doors and you;ll be amazed at what a difference it makes. Good luck.

I don’t know anything about the film you are talking about, but I do know of a way to do a makeover on your cabinets very easily and inexpensively. If you list your home, this makes your kitchen “show” well.
You won’t have to remove the doors or hinges, you won’t have to sand or prime. The end result is sort of a shabby chic look that is very popular.
Though it’s easy, it’s too much to write about here. Go to my blog at http://www.uglykitchencabinets.blogspot.com/ and you can read more about it.
Hope it helps ya!
