I Need Interior Design Advice/direction To Make My Living Area Workable. Does Tara Dennis Do Home Visits?gmt?
Lounge 6mx3.2m with central arch, adjoins kitchen 5mx3.2m which adjoins family room 7m x 4m via a central opening. The two openings form a thoroughfare through the kitchen. I want them to work bette/link together, remove clutter, with some design and colour advice and furniture positioning suggestions. Lounges faces due west, family room faces due east and the kitchen has no window except for a small opening into the family room It is dark and the only other light it gets is from the two openings.The passage to the bedrooms runs off the kitchen and the laundry backs on to it also. Do I open up the wall between the kitchen and family room, move the sink and put a window in the south wall? or do I completely relocate the kitchen to the other side of the room and maybe incorporate the laundry area in this process? I find when family visit the men sit in the lounge area watching TV, women in the family room with children running back and forth and spreading toys etc. GMT

You can go to Google.com and lokk up their 3d modeling software – it is called Google skethch, if I am not mistaken. It is free to download. You can then build your rooms or your whole house in it and try out differnt layouts. Otherwise – find a local architect – they are sometimes builders who provide architectural services (plans, sketches). These people are qualified, and they can give you a no-obligation advice on how to replan the areas you want, they will also be able to tell you if you can knock walls down or if the house will collapse if you do
And you cannot do this type of work by yourself- you will need a quote for building works anyway..
