Just bought a 2 family house that appears to have been owned by an eccentric yet crafty man. The unit I am moving into has an "interesting" kitchen with 3 different types of cabinets (Floor cabinets/wall cabinets/island) in white and a dark and light wood finish. Its atrocious.

When remodeling a kitchen, should the base cabinets go in first, and then tile around them, or should everything be ripped out, the floor installed and then the cabinets installed.

We live in a 100 year old house (and the kitchen cabinets look it). We are planning on selling in a few months and want to update the kitchen. Should we replace the cabinets or just the doors? BTW it's a small kitchen - it's an L shape 5 feet x 6 feet.
