Little Girls And Playing House – Use It To Teach Her Healthy Habits

All little girls like to play “house!” That is all of them except the one in the song “I don’t want to play house; it makes my mommy cry!” But, that is something completely different, not so? That is why all little girls need a Kidkraft Retro Kitchen and Refrigerator in pink.

So, under normal circumstances little girls enjoy playing house. Playing house includes cooking. Make sure your little girl has pots and pans, a play stove and fridge if possible and even a play washbasin.

To all this you have to add play food. It is amazing what a wide range of play food you can get these days. You even get those that you can “peel” and “cut!” I have to admit though, for some unknown reason, my granddaughter always prefer the “hamburger and chips” and the “pizza!”

Well, I think even this is a time we can use to bring in the idea of healthy eating. Make sure she has play food of all kinds of healthy veggies and fruit. Play with her and draw her attention to all the tasty meals you can make with these veggies and fruit. You can also instill healthy food preparation methods by showing her how she can “steam” and “grill” the food.

By using her play “fridge” you can teach her how to store fresh produce safely and the correct way of storing leftovers. I know it sounds like work, but with a little imagination and good toys she will learn all this without even knowing it. Play with her and let it all come natural in the line of play.

It stands to reason that the play kitchen you use has to be strong and it has to be big enough for more than one to play in at a time. You will not succeed in teaching her all this while playing if you have only a tiny little hole she has to play in!

So, go and have a look at the Kidkraft Retro Kitchen and Refrigerator in pink for hours of educational fun with your little girl.

Mixing Old Furniture In A New Modern House?

We are building a new house and have some old-style timber furniture that I love and would like to get more, but at the same time I want to keep the house looking modern (it has modern kitchen, bathrooms etc). Does anyone have any advice on mixing the two without looking odd?

House Problem Kitchen Too Small?

I went to look at a rented property the other day and it was perfect for me and my family apart from the kitchen being small. The layout of downstairs is : you walk through the front door into a room that is a decent size, then into another room which is much bigger, then the kitchen. The lady who lives there now has the first room as a dining room, the middle room as the living room (probably because it is the bigger of the two), but this means that her fridge is in her living room because it wont fit in the kitchen. I’m thinking of having the big room as the dining room instead but how could I incorporate a small fridge and freezer into the design without it looking stupid. Thankyou

Modern Kitchen In A Traditional House?

What do you think about remodeling a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and modern cabinets when the rest of our house is decorated in a more traditional way? Will it look out of place or is it ok to mix styles? (I don’t really want a modern feel to the family room or dining room – just the kitchen) Thanks.

I hired a kitchen design company to do a total gut and remodel of my kitchen. The contract says that appliance installation is included. The appliance company dropped off the appliances in my garage. My kitchen contractor is claiming that only the “installation” of the appliances is included, not the physical movement of the appliances from outside the house to inside. Is this typical? I feel like I’m getting ripped off because I might have to spend extra money to get a mover.
