Lemon is a very versatile fruit as well as a cleaner. I love it because it is natural so of course there are no harsh chemicals to inhale, just a nice citrus fresh scent. Lemons can be used in SO many ways! Here are a few of my favorite ways to use lemon around your kitchen as a cleaner.
You can use it to get smells out of your microwave by placing a cup of water and half a lemon inside of it and microwaving it for about 2-3 minutes. It will make it easy to clean off any stuck on food as well as taking any odors out.
Cut about half a lemon into wedges and place it into your garbage disposal and turn it on. It will eliminate any odors that are festering in there.
For odors and stains on your cutting board, first places table salt on the stain and then rub it with a lemon wedge. This not only removes tough stains but odors as well.
It cleans and deodorizes your kitchen sink. you can make a paste consisting of lemon juice and salt and then gently rub into your sink. It will leave it sparkling as well as with a clean scent.
It get stains of your hands. Simply rinse your hands with lemon juice and it will help remove any berry, spaghetti, etc stains right off.
It can remove tarnish from copper or brass by with a paste of salt and lemon juice. Gently scrub after it sets for Read the rest of this entry

It’s spring-cleaning time! With the birds flying around in a flurry of activity, and the fresh spring aroma in the air you get the desire to clean. The room that gets cleaned but never really organized during this time is the kitchen.
FIVE BOX METHOD
Before you start ripping the kitchen apart, get a timer, five large boxes, a marker, and masking tape. Mark each box a different category, Put Away, Give Away, Toss Store and Belongs Here. Put Away is where items rest temporarily. Give Away is for items you don’t want. Toss, is to throw out. Store is for the items that you want to keep, but that aren’t used on a regular basis. Belongs Here are the things that will stay in the kitchen. .
READY, SET, GO!
Set the timer for the amount of time you have to give this project. If you only have an hour to devote to organizing the kitchen today, then give it an hour. Now that you under a time constraint there are absolutely no excuses for not getting the kitchen organized today. Understand that people will be coming in for snacks and to ask what you’re doing. A good way around this is to tell everyone what is happening first, and that they have to stay out of the work area for the allotted time. Set snacks aside for the family on a table out of the way before starting the project.

Several parts of the kitchen including appliances, floor, and tiles have to be cleaned while you attempt to clean the kitchen. If you follow the kitchen cleaning tips, you can prevent clutter and clean the kitchen easily.
For every utensil or appliance, you need to have a space in your kitchen. The kitchen cabinet must be designed with future inclusions in mind. If there is no space in the kitchen for something you bought recently, it will become difficult to handle it.
Every kitchen will have a spot that gets cluttered easily. You have to know those spots so that you can organize clutter effectively. If you see that some spots in your kitchen are over used and are messed up, you have to take some time everyday to clear those spots.
Appliances such as refrigerator and ovens are used a lot in kitchen. If possible, you can wipe these appliances with a damp cloth every day. This will keep the exterior clean and free from dust.
After you finish cooking, wash the utensils and place them in the dishwasher. If your kitchen sink is filled with utensils, you will find cleaning to be a tiresome job. Complete loading and switch on the dishwasher at night. The next day morning, unload the dishwasher first and start cooking.
Before you go to bed, wipe the counter top of the kitchen with a Read the rest of this entry
