My advice for keeping the kitchen clean while you work:
Make sure the items in the kitchen are appropriate to be there. The kitchen will serve different functions for every family but cooking, serving, and storing food must come first. So consider if the kitchen needs a good decluttering of inappropriate items, multiples of gear, unused gadgetry. Where to go with this stuff?
Well, other activities probably gravitate to the kitchen due to a few different things. Your presence could be one…if so, organizing your time better in the kitchen will get you out of the room sooner so others don’t need to be in there with you to spend time with you. The kitchen also usually has good lighting and a large work surface, a phone outlet, and a water source. Setting up good alternatives in your home for these needs will minimize traffic and mess.
You can move underutilized items to a different storage place. You can get rid of stuff that is no longer needed.
